The Bakersfield Republican Women, Federated is proud to announce the recipients of the 2025 Sara Takii Scholarship Awards! Because of the generosity of our members, we are able to award two scholarships again this year. Both exceptional young women were chosen to receive our $1,500 Sara Takii Scholarship on the basis of their exemplary academic accomplishments, community service, school and political activities, and volunteer experiences. We are honored to share in the amazing journeys of these highly successful scholars. They all are assets to our community and we are thrilled to assist in their pursuit of higher education. |
RYANN BRACKEN | LAURYN ELDRIDGE |
Miss Bracken is a 2025 graduate of Taft Union High School and will attend Texas Tech University, in the fall majoring in Mechanical Engineering-Petroleum. Ryann demonstrated her leadership skills as President and Vice President of the American Assoc of Drilling Engineers and the Oil Technology Academy. She held several ASB positions and was a varsity athlete in volleyball, softball, track, and golf. Ryann was presented the Leadership Award by Shannon Grove, Recognition of Leadership from the American Assoc. of Drilling Engineers and is a National Honors Society member. Other organizations Ryann has been involved with is FFA, Soroptimist Club and Campus Life. Ryann has represented AADE as she traveled to Sacramento to meet with State Senators who regulate drilling and oil extraction in California. Simply stated Ryann believes “being a Republican means supporting principles that emphasize personal responsibility, individual freedoms, and limited role of government.
| Miss Eldridge is a 2025 graduate of Centennial High School and will attend CSUB in the fall with majoring in Kinesiology. Lauryn has served in leadership positions including ASB Commissioner of Girl’s Athletics, ASB Class Representative, Varsity Soccer Captain, and other renowned campus clubs. She received the 2025 Bakersfield Jockey Club award and is both a National Honors Society Member and National Science Honor Society Member. Lauryn has been a VBS Leader and an active member of the Riverlakes Community Church Student Ministry. She has participated in various community events and volunteered with the Kern County Republican Party activities including door to door campaigning supporting President Trump. Lauryn believes that “being a Republican means believing in values that focus on personal freedom, responsibility, and limited government. It’s about supporting hard work, honesty and faith in God.”
