For over 25 years, he served in the Kern County Sheriff’s Department, where he became a respected Special Emergency Response Team Leader, academy instructor, and gang prevention expert. After retiring, he turned his experience into teaching — becoming a Criminal Justice Instructor at McFarland High School, mentoring the next generation of leaders. In 2020, Saul was elected to the McFarland City Council, and in 2022, he became Mayor.
