We had a great start to our Caring for America project for February! Let’s continue to make an impact in our community.
We’re all aware that food insecurity is at an all-time high in Kern County and across the nation and the reasons are varied; however, the pandemic, which led to the shutdown of our economy and lost jobs, exacerbated the situation. Here’s an opportunity to make a difference; we’re having a food drive in February and we’re calling it “February’s – Have a Heart Food Drive’ and we’ve partnered with Community Action Partnership of Kern (CAPK) to assist them in filling up their food bank. We will be collecting non-perishable food and monetary donations for the whole month of February and below are samples of the type of food CAPK is looking to collect.
If you would rather make a monetary gift, CAPK accepts cash and checks and if you choose to write out a check, make it out to CAPK Food Bank. Please give me a call at (661) 873-7615 and together we’ll coordinate a date/time to pick up your donation.
